Most
of the postcards on this site are between 70 and 100 years old. But being
a "Baby-Boomer" myself, I am drawn to the life of American cities in
the 1960's. It is with that in mind that the next several postcards will
reflect an Elgin that many of us can remember.
On
several of the proceeding pages, I have included photographs of what the same
spots look like today (November, 2002). While 3:00 in November may not be
the best time to photograph buildings, it should give you a good idea of what
those same streets look like today.
