While Elgin
is known for a great many things, the buildings that have been built stand as a
testimony to the city's prosperity, ingenuity and tenacity.
Regrettably, many of the buildings featured in this site are gone. Thankfully,
many people saved these old postcards to remind us of those days gone by.
If they didn't, this site would not be possible. Also, many people
have spent tireless hours researching Elgin's past and present
treasure. The following pages will feature some of the old and new Elgin
structures.
