Resthaven
Sanitarium |
Sherman
Hospital was not the only establishment in Elgin that treated the sick. In 1909,
Libby Goll converted Judge E. C. Lovell's house into Resthaven Sanitarium. The
sanitarium would operate under Goll's care for more than forty years and would
treat chronically ill, mental and convalescent patients. In 1916, Goll would
expand her business with the purchase of a two story building east of the
existing site.
